About Brentwood Netball Club

Overview

Brentwood Netball Club is one of the largest Clubs participating at Waverley Netball Centre’ Saturday competition, with matches played at the Waverley Netball Centre, Cnr Jells and Waverley Roads, Glen Waverley. Our teams range from 9 & Under through to Open age, and cater for all abilities. Our players come from Monash, Knox, Whitehorse and surrounding local areas. 

History

Brentwood Netball Club was established in 1978 by Julie Wilkinson, a teacher at Brentwood Primary School (now Glen Waverley South Primary School). The Club began with two primary school aged teams, and training was held at the school courts in Watsons Road, Glen Waverley. Over the years, the Club has welcomed players from many other neighbouring schools including but not limited to Brandon Park Primary School and Wheelers Hill Primary School , and also expanded its number of senior teams. To accommodate this growth, training for junior teams is now held at the Waverley Netball Centre. 

Training

Junior teams train Friday 4.15- 5.15pm on the outdoor courts at Waverley Netball Centre, Jells Park. Please arrive at 4.10PM and be ready to start on time

Note if it is raining, coaches will advise if cancelled through team WhatsApp or Team App

Matches

All matches are played at the Waverley Netball Centre, Cnr Jells and Waverley Roads, Glen Waverley

The Saturday competition is run by Waverley Night Netball Association, with two seasons each year: Autumn (February – June) and Spring (July – December).

The Wednesday Night competition is run by Waverley Night Netball Association, with two seasons each year: Autumn (February – June) and Spring (July – December).

Margaret Neil Memorial Award

The Margaret Neil Memorial Award is named in honour of a great supporter of the Club who sadly passed away. The Award is presented to one Club member each year for outstanding achievement or contribution to the Brentwood Netball Club.
